摘要
Microstructures of W-80vol%Cu composite before and after plastic deformation at room temperature were observed using a scanning electron microscope. First, effects of deformation on the size and shape of W-particle and pore were examined. Secondly, effects of deformation on the fractions of W-phase, Cu-phase and pore were examined. Lastly, localized deformation behavior in the composite was investigated. Results are summarized as follows. (1) Morphology of W-particle was generally unchanged after deformation. In contrast, morphology of pore relatively changed after deformation. (2) Fraction of W-phase was intrinsically unchanged after deformation. Fractions of Cu-phase and pore were also unchanged in most of the sites, though slight change was recognized in several specific sites. (3) Localized deformation was mostly homogeneous but heterogeneous deformation occurred in some regions. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
