摘要
A series of experiments, which is similar except for concrete compressive strength, is used to validate the Riedel-Hiermaier-Thoma (RHT) concrete model and calibrate its default settings. The experiments were conducted to observe the influence of concrete strength (f(c)) on the concrete performance under impact loading. Numerical simulations using the RHT model with concrete parameters default and modified settings to predict the experimental results were made. The simulation results based on the default settings of the RHT model showed a significant effect of increasing f(c) which contradicts with the experiment. Modifying the default settings of the RHT model, which adopted a relatively decrease in tensile and residual fracture strengths with increasing f(c) made the simulation results correlated closely with experiments and in the conservative side from the point of view of protective structures design. Verification of the modified settings for other experiments was made, which showed superior results.
