Temperature memory effect (TME) induced by incomplete cycling in CuAlNi single crystalline and CuZnAl polycrystalline shape memory alloys were investigated by differential scanning calorimeter. Results showed that the TME is a common phenomenon in shape memory alloys, caused by a partial martensite to parent phase transformation. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
