摘要
We report on the effect of two hydrosoluble neutral polymers on the stability of a lamellar phase made of charged surfactant bilayers. The ability of the polymers to interact with the surfactant molecules being usually investigated in dilute (micellar) solutions, we discuss the phase diagrams obtained in an extended concentration range. No perturbation is observed in the presence of PAM (polyacrylamide) while PEG (polyethyleneglycol) strongly affects the interactions occurring in the AOT (sodium di-2-ethylhexylsulfosuccinate) lamellar phase. The influence of the polymers on the smectic period and bilayer thickness is analyzed through X-ray experiments. Neutron scattering spectra are given as qualitative indications of the thermodynamic properties of the doped lamellar phases.
