摘要
The anthropological reflexions in Georg Forster's "Voyage Around the World" are informed by the ideas of the contemporary Scottish philosophers who, in reaction to Rousseau's concept of natural man, pursued investigations in Theoretical or Conjectural History ( Dugald Stewart) in order to deduce general laws of the nature of man and history. Ignoring this context, the German reception associated Forster's work with the tradition of utopian fiction and praised its sentimental and poetic qualities.
