Synthesis, spectroscopic, magnetic and EPR results and crystal structure of di-μ-(N-methyl-N-methoxy-2-pyridinamine) bis[(2,2′-bipyridine)copper(II)]hexafluorophosphate

摘要
A new binuclear complex [ICu(bipy)}(2){t-Me(OCH2)Npy}(2)](PF6)(2), where bipy=2,2'-bipyridine and Me(OCH2)Npy=N-methyl-N-methoxy-2-pyridinamine, has been synthesized and characterized by chemical analysis, conductance measurements and IR and electronic spectroscopies. The X-ray crystal structure shows a distorted square-planar pyramidal coordination for Cu(II), determinated by two nitrogen atoms of bipy and two methoxo oxygen atoms in the equatorial plane and the pyridinic nitrogen atom of the ligand in the axial position. Magnetic susceptibility measurements (in the 2-290 K range) reveal a slightly antiferromagnetic character (2J = -3.6 cm(-1)). In the Q-band EPR spectrum signals of triplet (D > hv) are observed.
