This study was designed to analyze the computed tomography (CT) characteristics of benign and malignant nodules of thyroid carcinoma and evaluate the clinical values of CT, i.e., CT tester, in the identification of thyroid carcinoma. Ninety-six patients who were admitted to Taizhou People's Hospital of Jiangsu, Jiangsu, China, between 2015 and 2016 definitely confirmed having thyroid nodules by pathological examination or surgery were selected as the research subjects. Some special image processing technology was used to statistically analyze the diameter, morphology, calcification and cystic changes of thyroid nodules and iodine concentration in the thyroid nodules. The morphology and calcification pattern of thyroid nodules, homogenous enhancement, complete enhancement of gland edges and concentration of iodine less than 0.71 mg/ml in the thyroid had remarkable difference between the benign and malignant thyroid nodules (p < 0.05). Gemstone spectral imaging had an accuracy of 96.9% in the diagnosis of thyroid carcinoma. CT examination tester is highly accurate in diagnosing thyroid carcinoma. It has high values as an important diagnostic basis.
