The antiplane electro-elastic field for a bimaterial piezoelectric wedge with an interface crack subjected to a pair of concentrated forces and surface charges is studied in this paper. Based on the Mellin transform and the singular integral equation, the stress, strain, electric displacement, electric field intensity factors at both crack tips are derived analytically. These parameters can be applied to examine the fracture behavior of the interface crack. The results are validated when the problem is reduced to some simple cases studied in previous open literatures. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
