Study on thermodynamic properties of polyelectrolyte solutions

摘要
Based on a cylindrical cell model and Vink's approximation, distributions of electric potential around polyion under various conditions are obtained by solving Poisson-Boltzmann equation. Activity coefficients of polyion, counterion and coion are calculated from those potential distribution. Osmotic coefficients of solvent are also obtained. Predicted mean-activity coefficients of simple salts added for systems of NaPP-NaCl, NaPP-NaBr and NaCarr-NaI are in good agreement with the experimental results.
