Room temperature synthesis of a Zn(II) metal-organic coordination polymer for dye removal

摘要
A new one-dimensional (1D) coordination polymer, [Zn(4,4'-bpy)(H2O)(4)](ADC)center dot 4H(2)O (1) (4,4'-bpy=4,4'-bipyridine and H(2)ADC=acetylenedicarboxylic acid), was synthesized at room temperature. The crystal structure of the coordination polymer was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Compound 1 was also characterized by FT-IR, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The catalytic activity of I was evaluated in the color removal of Bismarck brown as a representative of dye pollutant in water under mild conditions. Coordination polymer 1 exhibited good catalytic activity and stability in the decolorization of Bismarck brown and could be easily recovered and reused for at least three cycles.
