The heat capacity of Pt(C5H7O2)(2) was measured in the temperature range (6-311) K by adiabatic calorimetry and found to be without transitions or thermal anomalies. The data obtained were used to calculate its thermodynamic functions (entropy, enthalpy, reduced Gibbs energy) in the range (0-310) K. They have the following values at 298.15 K: C (p,m) (A degrees) = (292.8 +/- A 0.5) J mol(-1) K-1, Delta (0) (298.15) S (m) (A degrees) = (361.4 +/- A 0.9) J mol(-1) K-1, Delta (0) (298.15) H (m) (A degrees) = (51.35 +/- A 0.09) kJ mol(-1), I broken vertical bar (m) (A degrees) = (189.2 +/- A 0.7) J mol(-1) K-1. The value of the absolute entropy was used to calculate the entropy of formation of Pt(C5H7O2)(2) at T = 298.15 K.
