A selective NH3 gas sensor based on mesoporous p-type NiV2O6 semiconducting nanorods synthesized using solution method

摘要
Gas sensing characteristics of mesoporous p-type semiconducting NiV2O6 nanorods composed of small nanoparticles was prepared using a solution-based method. The material properties of the nanorods were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transition electron microscope (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis (XPS), impedance analysis, and N-2 adsorption-desorption isothermal measurement. The gas response study of the NiV2O6 material was carried out at different operation temperatures. Obtained results showed that the NiV2O6 materials exhibited good selectivity and repeatability for NH3 gas, and comparatively fast response and recovery time for detecting the NH3 of a 100 ppm level at the temperature of 120 degrees C. The sensing mechanism of the NiV2O6 material was also discussed in detail. (C) 2013 Published by Elsevier B.V.
