摘要
This paper studies potential solutions for the beam switching issue based on a proposed beam-hopping LEO system. Different beam switching scenarios are considered, including beam switching within a satellite and beam switching between satellites. Also, different beam switching methods are discussed, including beam switching method with control beam, beam switching method with service beam, and beam switching method with hybrid beams. Analysis and simulation results show that control beam mechanism has the lowest overhead but the highest average delay, while hybrid beam mechanism can evidently decrease the average delay.
