摘要
The rumen of ruminants is able to adapt to prevailing diet conditions. On the one hand, the rumen epithelium reacts by proliferation to provide for larger surface for nutrient absorption. On the other hand, the surface of epithelial cells contains a number of transport proteins. This review describes the functions of major transport proteins and enzymes of rumen epithelial cells, their biochemical properties, occurrence, and regulation of proteins.
