摘要
The interaction between fulvic acid and sub-micron latex particles of different types and sizes and the effect on the removal of sub-micron particles in deep bed filtration were investigated. Filtration experiments on latex and hematite particles in the presence of fulvic acid showed improvement in the removal of those particles for certain ranges of the acid concentration. These concentrations were found to decrease when the size of the particles used was increased. Furthermore, the adhesive force calculations made for those conditions were in agreement with the particle removal efficiency of the filter when the aggregation of particles were considered.
