151Eu Mossbauer study of the CuEuO2+δ delafossite

摘要
Eu-based delafossite samples CuEuO2+delta, with delta = 0.00 and 0.67 were synthesized for Eu-151 MBssbauer investigations. The value of the quadrupole coupling constant for the as-synthesized stoichiometric (delta = 0.00) and the oxygen-loaded (delta = 0.67) samples was eQ(g) V-zz = 9.4(2) and 6.1(2) mm/s, respectively. The asymmetry parameter eta was 0.44(4) and 0.76(4), respectively. Lattice point-charge calculations reproduced the positive eQ(g) V-zz values and the increase of the asymmetry parameter eta upon oxygen loading. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
