摘要
Promethazine (PM) is an antihistamine and antiemetic medication. In this study, a potentiometric liquid membrane sensor for simple and fast determination of promethazine hydrochloride in pharmaceutical formulation and urine was constructed. For the membrane preparation, PM-tetraphenylborate complexes were employed as electroactive material in the membrane. The wide linear range (10(-5)-10(-2) mol L(-1)), low detection limit (1.0x10(-5) mol L(-1)), and fast response time (similar to 5s) are characterizations of the proposed sensors. Validation of the method shows suitability of the sensors for applies in the quality control analysis of promethazine hydrochloride in pharmaceutical formulation and urine.
