Anisotropic magnetoresistance in manganite films

摘要
Ferromagnetic manganites show a colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) close to their Curie temperature. This large CMR does not saturate and makes the study of anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) difficult. In this paper we study the AMR of an La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 film epitaxially grown on SrTiO3 substrates. The film thickness is kept under the critical thickness for structural relaxation and the control of the film magnetic anisotropy (in-plane [110] easy axis) allows resistance measurements in a 100% remanent magnetic state, i.e. H = 0, in order to avoid the CMR effect.
