Study of nuclear matrix elements of two-neutrino double-beta decay by (p,n) and (n,p) reactions

摘要
Angular distributions of the double differential cross sections for the Ca-48(p,n) and the Ti-48(n,p) reactions were measured. A multipole decomposition technique was applied to the spectra to extract the Gamow-Teller (GT) component. Extra GT(+) strengths are found above 8 MeV excitation energy which cannot be explained by shell model calculations within the fp-shell model space.
