The effect of citrate ions on the anodic behavior of tungstate

摘要
The effect of citrate ions on the anodic dissolution of tungsten in electrolytes containing no strong bases was investigated. The experiments were carried out with a rotating disk electrode at 298 K with the help of a PI-50-1 potentiostat with a PDA-1 recorder in a potentiodynamic mode and a stabilized dc power source B5-50 in the galvanostatic mode. The measurements were performed in a thermostatically controlled three electrode cell of a 50 ml volume. The measured potentials were recalculated to the normal hydrogen scale. The result showed that the disslution rate of tungsten in the electrolytes based on potassium citrate exceeds that in chloride electrolytes. It was also observed that the tungsten dissolves at a high rate at relatively low potentials and the curves measured in citric acid and potassium citrate solutions differ little from one another. The effect of the anodic activation of tungsten in the presence of chloride and citrate anions in the solutions was also observed.
