A study of the gas turbine applications in retrofit and enlargement of ethylene plants

摘要
This paper presents a scheme of energy integration for gas turbine and ethylene plant cogeneration of heat and power It analyses the steam balance of the ordinary ethylene plant, proposes the retrofit ethylene process combined with gas turbine, heat recovery steam generator (HRSG), and steam turbine cogeneration cycle. By making use of pinch analysis of gas-steam combined cycle with processes, the retrofit scheme is studied, in which the gas turbine integrated with ethylene plant through HRSG. The numerical example indicates that the fuel saving of the retrofit system can reach 5.9%, and the investment return time is about three and a half years.
