摘要
The effects of banded and random ferrite/pearlite structure on hydrogen permeation in AISI 4130 steel plate have been investigated. Since the pearlitic blocks act as a barrier to hydrogen diffusion, the hydrogen diffusivity in the banded structure was found to be highly anisotropic. In the random ferrite/pearlite structure, hydrogen can diffuse in all directions, thus the hydrogen diffusivities of a random ferrite/pearlite structure were higher than those along the transverse and through-surface directions of a banded ferrite/pearlite structure, but lower than that along the longitudinal direction of a banded structure, where hydrogen can diffuse undisturbed along the ferrite bands.
