摘要
Electronic and transport properties of the radially deformed zigzag single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) are studied by using numerical calculations. We found that tube squashed by tips with different widths may induce different shapes of the cross section, and thus affect their electronic and transport properties differently. On the other hand, the smaller radial deformations may change the band structures above the Fermi level apparently, with increasing of the radial deformation, the bands below the Fermi level may be significantly altered too.
