Facile synthesis and enhanced photocatalytic activity of ZnSe/TiO2-xNx composite nanoparticles

摘要
ZnSe/TiO2-xNx composite nanoparticles with the average grain size of about 20 nm were fabricated by the hydrothermal-solvothermal method. The result of HRTEM confirmed the formation of heterostructures in the composite samples. Slight absorption edge red-shifts were observed in the absorption spectra after modifying TiO2-xNx with ZnSe. The photoacatalyic activity for the degradation of methylene blue solution over TiO2-xNx was obviously enhanced after coupling with ZnSe. The sample of 2% ZnSe/ TiO2-xNx exhibited the best photocatalytic performance among the prepared samples. However, the photocatalytic activity of the sample was depressed as the ratio of Zn:Ti increases to 5% because the surface active sites of the photocatalyst were covered by ZnSe nanoparticles.
