A general strategy to synthesis Mg-Ti-O nanofibers by sol-gel assisted electrospinning

摘要
Various magnesium titanate oxides, including Mg2TiO4, MgTiO3, and MgT2O5, nanofibers with excellent continuity have been fabricated by the electrospinning method, as Mg2TiO4 was chose as a model to illustrate this topic in detail. Both scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy observations showed that the Mg2TiO4 was well-defined one-dimensional nanofibers. The X-ray diffraction results exhibit that the Mg2TiO4 nanofibers possess highly crystalline structure without any detectable impurity phases, while their nanoparticle counterparts prepared by a sol-gel route was introduced several foreign impurities. Moreover, such nanofibers also demonstrated larger surface areas compared to the nanoparticles, benefitting from the regular morphology as well as the rough surface.
