摘要:
'Resilient Packet Ring (RPR) is a new technology has just been standardized as IEEE 802.17 for Metropolitan Area Networks ( MAN). RPR provides higher bandwidth utilization than other ring technologies. In this paper, we analysed fairness policy based on node and based on flow. The results show that : throughput of RPR can reach 2 times of conventional rings in Balanced "Uniform " traffic pattern using fairness based on node, and a more nearly 2 times using fairness based on flow but with more complexity We also develop the solution of fairness based on flow. The simulation results match and verify the theoretic analysis.
