Antioxidant Enzymes and Cell Wall Formation in Tobacco Plants under Salt Stress

摘要
The study was focused on the responses of tobacco plants to salt stress. The changes in antioxidant enzymes, photosynthetic pigments, anatomy traits in root and stein tissues under the impact of different concentration of NaCl (25 and 50 mM L-1) were investigated. It was shown that low and high concentrations of NaCl differently effected on plant growth, and root and stem anatomy. The salt stress activated antioxidant enzymes (CAT, GPX, APX), and increased chlorophyll and carotenoid content. In roots salt stress causes the increase of total and cortex diameter and cell wall thickness in xylem tissues. The same NaCl concentrations cause stronger changes in roots than in shoots.
