Emission lifetime calculation of thallium-doped alkali halides

摘要
We compute the lifetime of the first excited state of Tl+ as a substitutional impurity in alkali halide host crystals. We use the excited state optimized geometry obtained previously. We calculate the transition probability for the triplet state in terms of an effective spin-orbit coupling parameter. Calculated lifetimes agree well with experiment.
