Offset companding technique for peak-to-average power ratio reduction of OFDM signals

摘要
An offset instantaneous digital companding scheme was proposed to reduce peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal. The deliberate constant offsets were added in front of the compressor to reduce the dynamic range of the input signal. The performance of proposed schemes was evaluated and compared with other PAPR techniques by computer simulations. It was shown that the PAPR was effectively reduced using the proposed scheme.
