Phonon anomalies in the infrared conductivity of the RuSr2GdCu2O8 ferromagnetic superconductor

摘要
We have performed ellipsometric measurements of the infrared dielectric response of RuSr2GdCu2O8 polycrystalline ceramics. The transformation of the Cu-O bending phonon mode at 288 cm(-1) in the normal state to a broad absorption band at 308 cm(-1) in the superconducting state has been observed. This observation strikingly resembles the c-axis optical conductivity data reported for the YBa2Cu3O6.45 crystals. The anomalous softening of the Ru-related phonon mode at 190 cm(-1) has been observed on decreasing temperature below the magnetic T-M = 133 K transition temperature. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
