摘要：
The prognostic factors of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) enable us to determine the risk of recurrence and death associated with the disease. Clinicians find them useful for patient information and for adapting monitoring and medical treatment to the related risk of recurrence or death. Recent progress in diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment have altered the conventional prognostic factors of RCC. This work aims to update and summarise our knowledge concerning prognostic factors of localized and metastatic RCC. We discuss the value and performance of anatomical, histological, clinical, molecular and biological prognostic factors and of prognostic models combining several prognostic factors.
