摘要
Information systems can be considered complex in a great many ways. This paper focus on the hierarchical structures used in object-oriented modelling and mete-modelling. Models are described as emerging structures within aggregation and generalisation hierarchies, and acquiring the characteristics of a complex system is imputed to the role of (free) associations whose semantics is exogenous to those hierarchies.
