摘要
There is wide acceptance, growth and investment of Six Sigma in industry. Although initially employed to improve existing processes, Six Sigma principles are also applied to design and redesign processes to ensure achievement of high levels of quality. This effort is known as Design for Six Sigma (DFSS). The purpose of this paper is to determine when DFSS becomes a priority over Six Sigma in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and products. Two projects in two different industry sectors have been examined as case studies.
