Analysing the economic application of expert systems: Developing a new system

This paper surveys a number of well-known expert systems in the domain of economics as well as prevents the author's research. The idea is to illustrate the span of typical expert systems in economics, which is thereafter used as groundwork for development of a new system. In most cases it is not effective to create the whole expert system but to use already existing expert system shell. For development of the new system we have chosen COMPIC ORION system shell, which was created specifically for enterprise domain by Czech software company COMPIC Ltd. Our choice is caused by its extraordinary ability to work under uncertainty by using the Bayesian theorem.
