The city as a place of experience of the past. For an urban history for young people

Urban history is an important resource to help young people develop a historical sense. Firstly, because it manages to exemplify well the close connections that exists between past and present. Then, because it allows to experiment with an interdisciplinary research practice through the use of different methodologies and analysis scales. Finally, because it favours a global approach in studying the past, highlighting the limits of an Eurocentric perspective. This article examines some of the most recent transformations in Urban History in order to evaluate their pedagogical potential in educational activities aimed at younger generations.
