This report describes the synthesis of 2-azabicyclo [2.2.2] octane-1-carboxylic acid, a constrained pipecolic acid analogue. The route gives a very good total yield starting from cheap and readily available compounds and uses very easy reactions. (c) 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
