摘要
WSN (Wireless sensor node) is a collection of large number of sensor nodes which, are deployed in the large area. It is a subset of ad-hoc network. These sensor nodes are small in size with limited processing power, memory, and battery life. Sensor nodes are used to sense data and send it to the base station (BS) (via a cluster head).The challenging issue of WSN is energy efficiency, because every sensor node has limited energy. Selection of appropriate Cluster head (CH) is a way to reduce the energy consumption. LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) is a hierarchical clustering protocol which is designed to select an appropriate CH and an efficient cluster formation. In this research paper various LEACH based protocol has been analysed. This research paper proposed improved CH selection strategy to maximize the network lifetime.
