A graphical approach to the unipolar point-to-plane corona

摘要
A new method based on a simple geometrical construction is proposed to describe the asymptotic ion flow arrangement for the rod-plane assembly. This procedure leads to a generalised formula for the planar current which represents a valid option to the empirical Warburg law. Some validation criteria involving available experimental data are also presented. Finally, a Deutsch hypothesis-based formulation is discussed for calculating the corona ionized electric field.
