Triple bond to lead:: Synthesis and characterization of the plumbylidyne complex trans-[Br(PMe3)4MoPb-C6H3-2,6-Trip2]

摘要
Mine's a triple! The reaction of cis-[Mo(N2) 2(PMe3)4) with (Pb(Br)R)2 affords the red-brown plumbylidyne complex 1 (see scheme), which is the first compound to feature a triple bond to a main-group element of the sixth row. The molecular structure of 1 reveals a very short Mo-Pb bond of 2.5495(8) Å and a near linear coordination at the lead atom (Mo-Pb-Caryl 177.8(2)°) (R = 2,6-Trip2-C6H3, Trip = 2,4,6-iPr 3-C6H2).
