摘要：

This paper examines Dorothy Day, American author and activist, who devoted an important part of her reflection to the defense of hospitality. The fundamental ideas of her thought will be analyzed, such as responsibility, alterity, and commitment, together with an exposition of several instances in which Day put hospitality into practice. We observe the relevancy and expediency of her ideas in front of the current reality that migrants and refugees face.
