摘要
This research was carried out to investigate different phases of titanium Gamma and also the effect of heat treatment on the evolution of phases in the alloy. The effect of soaking time in high temperature on constitution of different phases are discussed base on SEM, XRD and optical microscope. It was observed that exposure of titanium gamma to heat caused decomposition of the lamellar phase to duplex phases and interface of lammelar phase which encourages heterogeneous nucleation. With further aging, it caused grain growth, which is undesirable because of embrittlement phenomena. On the other hand, longer soaking time leads to removal of unstable beta phasesreplaced by gamma phase. Also effect of strain rate on the strength and ductility was been investigated. Fatigue test was also done on the titanium aluminium under different frequencies and the effect of different frequencies was investigated.
