摘要
The present article evaluates the importance of an efficient urban planning for the achievement of sustainability and also for guaranteeing the fundamental right to a sustainable city. The article analyses the cities and its necessary commitment to a sustainable urbanism; it approaches the smart urban planning as a necessary path to achieve sustainability and, finally, discusses the decisive importance of a urban plan for the achievement of sustainable development goals in terms of urban environment. As a result, it highlights the importance of a collaborative and democratic construction of an appropriate and efficient urban plan as a strategic instrument for urban governance and sustainability. The research is based on a bibliographic research produced with an inductive logic based methodology.
