Fabrication of carbon spheres on a-C:H films by heat-treatment of a polymer precursor

摘要
A method for the preparation of carbon spheres by simple heat-treatment of poly(phenylcarbyne) polymer precursor at 1000 °C was analyzed. It was shown that this method significantly simplifies the preparation of carbon spheres, and makes the process more cost-effective. The thickness of the carbon films after heat-treatment was about 1-2 μm, measured with a surface profile instrument. The results show that carbon spheres can be spontaneously incorporated into a-C:H film in the same manner to produce excellent lubricating carbon composite materials and catalytic carrier materials.
