摘要
A holistic life prediction model of aging aircraft aluminum alloy structure served in corrosive environment was presented. The basic approach to compute the effects of corrosion on structural life was described and exercised for two types of corrosion: pitting corrosion and exfoliation corrosion. The finite element method (FEM) was used to calculate the stress multiplication of aluminum alloy structure subjected to the two kinds. of corrosion damage. Combining the results of FUN calculation with the AFGROW software of crack growth analyses, the life cycles of corroded structure were estimated, and the predicted fatigue lives were in good agreement with experimental cycles.
