Two novel mixed-ligand coordination polymers were synthesized via 5-(pyridin-3-yl)-1H-pyrazole-3carboxylic acid (H(2)ppc) reacting with the Cu(NO3)(2)center dot 3H(2)O in the existence of distinct N-donor coligands under hydrothermal reaction conditions, and their chemical formulae are [Cu-2(Hppc)(4)(4,4'-bipy)](n) (1, 4,4'-bipy = 4,4'-bipyridine) and {[Cu(PPc)(pbbbm)]center dot H2O)}(n) (2, pbbbm = 1,4-bis(benzimidazole-1-ylmethyl)benzene)). The magnetic researches indicate that the two compounds possess antiferromagnetic coupling between neighboring metallic ions. The biological function of the compounds on osteosarcoma was assessed and the related mechanism was explored. Cell Counting Kit-8 was used to evaluate the toxicity of compounds on the osteosarcoma cells. The reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction method was implemented to assess the estrogen receptor expression level on the osteosarcoma cells after treated with the compounds. Next, the transwell method was utilized for the determination of the invasion ability and migration ability of cancer cell after indicated treatment. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
