摘要：

This article to the film's re-reading of Melville in terms of a presentation of an a-religious religion. The film's display of beauty and its engagement with both the sufficiency and vulnerability of this beauty is seen to partake of a philosophical and cinematic questioning of an aesthetic of auto-sacralization and the chances of an atheist art.
