Multiwire canonical lines and their application in microwave technology

Irregular multiwire transmission lines are considered whose wave impedances vary according to the canonical law. For such lines, the telegraph equations are solved exactly. Expressions are obtained for calculating the total energy, as well as dispersion equations of a periodic single-step irregular multiwire line with arbitrary loads. An example of calculating a specific slowing system (SS) is used to show that, by applying irregular multiwire lines instead of conventional types of lines, one can considerably improve the frequency characteristics of microwave structures, in particular, to widen the passband and enhance the slowing factor and the coupling impedance.
