Provisioning of reconfiguration services between different access networks

End-to-end Reconfigurability implies that multiple distributed entities are involved in reconfiguration processes. Reconfiguration itself relies on a number of support services whose functionality also may be distributed over the network between a number of support nodes. This distribution however raises a number of security threats, in particular the handling of reconfiguration software and the reconfiguration procedures have particular requirements towards security. This article presents a security architecture and mechanisms for secure reconfiguration support in reconfigurable networks and across the boundaries of administrative domains. The article discusses and describes both, the architecture as well as its testbed implementation.
