New molecular imprinting materials: Liquid crystalline networks

摘要
Side chain liquid crystal polymers, with mesogenic units fixed laterally to a polymer backbone were studied. The imprinted materials remained mesomorphous even with high amounts of template. The liquid crystalline character increased and avoided high cross-linking densities. Molecular imprinting was a valuable polymerization method for preparing synthetic materials able to exhibit the molecular recognition phenomenon.
