Dielectric dispersion in CuO doped ZnF2-PbO-TeO2 glasses

Dielectric constant epsilon', loss tan delta and conductivity a of 45ZnF(2)-9PbO-(46 - x) TeO2-xCuO glasses (with x values ranging from 0.2 to 0.6) are studied as a function of frequency in the range 10(2) to 10(7) Hz and in the temperature range 30 to 200 degrees C. All these glasses are found to exhibit dipolar relaxation effects. The variation in epsilon' and tan delta with frequency and temperature are observed to be strongly dependent on the concentration of CuO. The observed relaxation effects are described by Classius-Mossotti Debye relation with a set of relaxation times. The possible nature of relaxing dipoles is discussed.
